Natural remedies for arthritis ?? by
The Space Boss
I have a cocker spaniel who's on Rimadyl for arthritis, and he seems to
be doing very well but his bones sure SNAP when he walks. Is there
anything I can give him to lubricate his joints so they won't do
that????

Mast Cell Cancer by
Mags
Hi All
Looking for views on what to do next with my Jack Russell. My mind changes
every minute!!
He's 8; got a grade 2 tumour removed from his stomach but with dirty
margins. The vet didn't want to take too much into his stomach muscles or
too near his penis. Ultrasound, bone marrow and lymph...

Calories burned while walking by
[email protected]
I'm interested in how many calories my dogs burn while walking. I've
googled quite a bit on this, but could only find sites with calculators
for how many calories that PEOPLE burn while walking their dogs. Does
anybody have any info on this? Clearly the size of the dog and the
walking speed need...

Chihuahua illness by
beti
My 4 year old Chihuahua started having attacks in February. Very
randomly, when he loses power in his front legs and back hunches up and
his rear legs kind of twist round. I took him to 2 vets who weren't
able to diagnose anything and mentioned possibilities of epilepsy,
heart problems. Then the...

You have to see this training manual! by
bzoozzoo
Heel!
Sit!
Stay!
Don't you wish training your dog was as simple as those three words?
I know I did when teaching my Jack Russell. Some days I was so
frustrated with him that I just gave up. Yeah that was fun... After a
few weeks of dealing with a disobedient rug chewing, car chasing,
yelping...

My lab-chow-shepperd mix has developed swollen glands in his cheeks and

Flea & Tick Colars / Treatment by
jabadoodle
Recently got a dog from a friend who could not keep him. Our family has had
dogs before, but it's been a while. ~ We live in a rural area and take him
for a walk a few times per day. He is getting tics and possibly fleas.
When I first got him he had a tic collar but I threw it away as it looked...

incontinence in young spayed female by
Lynne
I posted a while ago about Roxy's potential incontinence. Just as we ruled
out URI or crystals of any kind, the problem went away so we opted not to
do anything further. Well it's back, and I'm wondering if there are any
other medical conditions I should rule out before treating her for...

Chew Toys by
jabadoodle
I see another thread here about chew toys questioning their safety.
My dog loves the chewable rawhide bone I bought at Pet Co. It doesn't seem
unsafe to me. It's way to big to swallow and by the time he gets any piece
of it broken off it's a pretty small piece. Are these things safe?
Kind of...

Persistent tick infection - suggestions sought by
Jim
My daughter has a dog and lives in the UK. Her dog is picking up ticks from
her very small enclosed (6' panel fence) garden. No other pets or livestock
access the garden. Does anyone know how to rid the garden of ticks? Tall
order I know but help needed and any suggestions welcome.

growth on back of rear leg by
CALIK8
Our 11 year old golden has a dark growth the size of a small fist
hanging on the back of her rear leg. It hasn't got any bigger. The vet
wanted to remove it under anesthesia for quite a hefty sum of $. we
thought we'd watch it for a while. Now I am thinking, maybe we could
"tie it off" like you do...

To S/N or not? by
Janet B
The castration price thread started the big question and over the
years, there are varying opinions and studies and such.
I'm glad that people are thinking about it, rather than "we'd never do
that" just because, or "of course we'll do that", also just because.
I've only made the choice with 3 of...

Lump/Bump on dog's ear by
My 7 year old Dalmatian, Duchess, has a bump on the inside of her ear flap.
It has been there for about 3 months. It is very tender, about 1/4in in
size, and has a white hard crust on top of it. I have tried washing it with
a warm soapy washcloth to get the crust off and using hydrogen peroxide...

Mush meal by

I thought I'd post a recipe that I got from my breeder when I bought my pup.
Its super healthy for dogs. I try to give it a couple of times a week to
keep my dog in tip top condition.
The mush meal consists of mince meat (alternate between different types -
chicken, beef, lamb), fruit and...

Oppie (yellow lab, age 10.5 yrs) has a definitive diagnosis of
