Neuticles.

This is WRONG!

How so? I think it's pretty damn silly, but wrong?

Hey, some of those dogs live in really rough neighborhoods where the dog
park is run by a gang of albino Dobermans. And those pretty little Shelties
will point and laugh at any sign of weakness. Those dogs need every outward
show of macho they can get!

~~Judy (Wondering if anyone ever bothers to get them for long haired dogs
or if it's only the naked butt ones that get them? And is the typical
owner a man or do women get them for their dogs also?)

I suspect they're largely ordered by women for a man's dog. I've never met
a woman who was resistent to the idea of a dog losing his testicles. Some
of them have been mistaken in the belief that neutering automatically turns
a male dog into a feminie-acting male dog but it was the need to see the
testicles.

Men, OTOH, have major issues with the lack of testicles. They not only
believe it totally sissifies the dog but that the dog will lose all matter
of pride and self-esteem when the testicles go. They will flat-out refuse
to consider neutering because of it. I know some wives who've had their
dogs neutered, against their husband's adamant demands not to, and had those
neuticals put in to fool the husband. Everyone is happy then, assuming
hubby doesn't make any attempts to breed the dog.

i dunno, Manu looks so rough and tough otherwise, except for that little
flap of skin where his badly done neuter scar is. i bet he'd look just
great with a set. ;-)

not that i'd ever put a dog through unnecessary surgery for something as
silly as that.

A stud dog was imported to Finland several years ago. Probably from USA,
but I'm not sure of the country of origin. Anyway, it was registered here
and it looked so good that it didn't take long before the owner took it to
its first show - and the judge found that it had THREE testicles. Two
natural ones and a false one.

It had probably been a monorchid, a false testicle was added and later the
other original testicle had dropped anyway.

I think that the dog was removed from the registery, as it is stricktly
against the Finnish Kennel Club rules to alter a show dog in this way. The
owner/importer tried to fight with the breeder/exporter, but as she could
never prove that the third testicle had been there when the dog left its
breeder, I don't think that she could get any of her many back.

I love my husband.
He has enough sense to know better.

He says, "When is Bodhi getting neutered!?" (Of course, he spotted him
starting to mark things outside and hoped it would put an end to it).

Also, I have to say, if my husband attempted to have ANY of my dogs bred
without my knowlege, there would be TRUE hell to pay.

Of course, again, he has enough sense to know better!

Well, see, that's the thing. I sort of don't think much of men who are
so insecure in their own maleness that they have to borrow their dog's
balls. And if they don't need their dog's balls to feel like a man, then
why do they care if they come off or not?

It's just sort of a real puzzler to me.
