Default nail clipping

I want to be able to clip my dog's nails but I am so afraid I will go to
far. Is there a scissor that is good for beginners and maybe only clips a
little bit off?
thanks

If you get the scissor style ones (not the guilitine) they have a nail
guard. If your dog's nails are clear, it should be easy provided you can
convince the dog to stand still. If they are black, you can clip just the
tip and he should be fine.

You can get a product called Qwik-Stop which is a powdery thing that stops
the blood flow if you do nick their quicks.

I use a dremel instead of clipping the nails (it's like filing your own nails)
I bought the Sears cordless dremel (much cheaper than the same item sold for
dog grooming). If you have a long-haired dog, just be very careful not to get
the hair caught. I file a little bit about twice a month.
