Beyond merely talking to the individuals (which you've done), have you considered a small fence or barrier around the tree. Neighbors around here put up wire fencing that works nicely. It's green, about a foot tall, and gets the point across nicely. Maybe that'd work. OK, I would like to know where all the dog walkers that live in apartments do let their dogs pee when walking the dogs. I am curious about this. Actually puzzled. I can certainly understand and see the whole bag for poop thing that should be done wherever anyone goes with their dogs. But the peeing part and walking the dog that *may* be inclined to pee every 20' is something I am baffled about. Gwen |

OK, I would like to know where all the dog walkers that live in apartments do let their dogs pee when walking the dogs. I am curious about this. Actually puzzled. People around here put up fencing when they want to protect the flowers around the trees. Most dog walkers here (mostly condo dwellers, which is akin to apartments) try to respect such flowerbeds (or sometimes they've other plants there). Other trees, not fenced, are fair game, and these outnumber the fenced trees 20-1. -- Looking for a pet? Of course trees on property and flower beds would not be fair game at all or very inconsiderate. But lawns? So I am still puzzled. Are people teaching their dogs to pee on the cement sidewalks instead. If so how? Gwen |

When I take Moogli for a walk, on the way out (when he is most likely to leave a large puddle behind) I make sure that we are going by a route which will take us along sidewalks that are in front of other apartment buildings or stores. When he goes #2, I always pick it up. I only walk him through housing projects after he is pretty well empty. -- ******************************************* Marcel Beaudoin & Moogli ******************************************* *Four hours* to bury a cat? All sorts of other creatures do so (squirrls, rabbits, whatever). What does make sense is if someone is trying to grow new lawn, and might want to fence that off, or if there's a particular spot that is dying from over ahem watering... Chad -- Looking for a pet? If I see a place that has recently put down sod, or where there are kids playing, I make sure that Moolgi is on a short leash on the sidewalk as we go by there. As for existing lawn, we have a huge grub problem up here that is killing a lot of grass, so it is hard to tell what is done by dogs, and what is done by grubs. -- ******************************************* Marcel Beaudoin & Moogli ******************************************* *Four hours* to bury a cat? But the thing is elderly dogs or even my Murphy was inclined to pee/mark every few steps. I of course would never allow a flower bed or a persons tree but a lawn. Well, I am very guilty of this and I suppose I should be ashamed of being inconsiderate. But poop would never be left in anyone's lawn or place. Gwen |
