My 13 year old female Aussie has reacurring pain..
The pain appears to be caused by gas in her intestines, at least the x-ray showed a build up of gas bubbles along the intestinal track... the pain has been intermitent and severe. She salvates extensively, pants heavily and appears to have cramps (jumps like electric shock and barks) and is very cliniging during an episode. Her vet has recently (over a month ago)prescribed antibiotics and an anti-nausia medication which may have helped a little.. the vet has indicated she would be on these for the rest of her life. She is also on a restricted diet which did seem to help some and she is eating much better. I am concerned about the long term use of antibotices...
All advice and/or information greatly appreciated. |
