Default my dog has been diagnosed with PARVO,,,HELP

me and my husband have had our little shih tzu (muffin) for about 5
months. We had got her off of a lady in winnipeg who had stated my dog
was vaccinated. About one month ago we had got another puppy, Pablo,
Pablo's a full breed Pug and hes only about 2 months old. Three days
ago Muffin grew very sick, depression, vomitting, bloody diarhea the
whole works. The first night i figured she had been eating grass and
she was just vomitting nothing serious, But that morning i had noticed
a puddle of blood in my living room, immediately i took her to my vet
and they tested her for Parvo. Muffin tested possitive.....Its been
three days now and the vet has her hooked up on IV's, treatment and so
on. She was doing better the second day she was in the vet, eating and
much more alert, but this morning the vet called me and told me she
started having bloody diarhea once again and she will not eat or drink
anything. It has really discouraged us and any hope we have is slowly
going down hill. I have no experience with the virus Parvo...i have
read up on it quite a bit and have heard many different opinions. I
really have no idea what to think at this point, we absolutely adore
Muffin and dont know what we'd do if anything happens to her. Please if
anyone has any idea or might have a better opinion on what might happen
to Muffin please Write back...It means alot! Thanks so
much.....................................Tiffany

Do you have the vaccination records from the breeder? It's a series of
vaccinations (just like with human infants), not just one.

Did she give you vaccination records? How many vaccinations did your
dog receive? Have you been to your own vet after bringing her home?
How old is she?

Parvo kills. Some dogs get through it, but some don't.

What does your vet say about the pug? Have you bleached your entire
home and yard?

How is your Pug puppy? Your outdoor area should be off limits to the little
one for quite some time after this. Parvo can live in the ground for months.

I hope Muffin survives this. My own boy came to me with Parvo when he was a
pup, and while it took its toll, he came through alright. My vet said at the
time that the older they are, the higher their chances of survival are. Best
of luck to you.

Make sure when this is all over, you tell the breeder that her vaccines
didn't work.

Tara
