You could get a Queener-dog. She promises never to be complex or
nuanced.

I sure hope you're sleeping with one eye open. She's just lulling you
into a false sense of security. Even the most innocent, dumb blonde
valley girl type female dogs I've known have had agendas.

Queenie's agenda:
Play play play
Eat eat eat
Finagle treats
Play play play
Go to daycare
Play play play
Get treats at daycare
Dance around every morning in hopes that human will take you to daycare
Play play play
Eat eat eat
Get ears scritched

The boys
may not be any easier to live with, but I've had an easier time
figuring out what they're about. None of this 'I like you on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday, except if the Friday is also a full moon, in
which case....'

All my dogs lurve me all the time. But then I go for the silly goof dogs.

Now Zoe, on the other hand...

Or maybe you need to sleep with both eyes open.

Zoe's agenda:
All the toys are belong to me
Human belong to me
Boss of other dogs
World domination
Lots of loves and belly rubs
Eat
Play tricks on human
Walkies!

Max's agenda:
Turn self inside out
Eat
Perform traditional dances of Pomerania
Keep the world safe from pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders, and
other dogs
Get along with everyone who is not passing by the house
Attempt to get Zoe to play
Taunt Queenie, then hide somewhere
More treats please!
Drape self over sofa a la throw pillow
Grumble when told not to bark
