What would you do in such a situation?

Laugh my head off while announcing encouragingly "it's the CANINE
CANNONBALL!"

Not that it's ever happened or anything.

Exactly. We call it the "Tuck Butt Zoomies" when a dog has lost it's wee
little mind and ricocheting around. Now Zeffie and Pablo have gotten too
dang mature & dignified to start such shenanigans but Bode the puppy is
prone to TBZ fits. When Bode is Tuck Butt Zooming, it usually inspires Pablo
to play the "head him off at the pass" game (our back yard is full of trees,
shrubs and a pavilion with brick charcoal grill thus many obstacles to zoom
around) and mess with what's left of Bode's mind. Zeffie's job is to stand
in the middle of the yard, makes encouraging lunges when Bode shoots by and
otherwise scold him.

Chris, her smoothies and one Tuck Butt Zooming Puppy,
Zeffie, Pablo & Bode
