Fine; you think I shrieked, it's your prerogative to think so. What I objected to is your mischaracterization of my description of a couple of my rescues. I said they don't like being approached by the public;you said I said they would have bitten Kelly. Not the same, and more importantly, blatantly untrue. Stop the bullshit, eh? Jack "Guess My Real Name" Morrison IMMEDIATELY responded to Kelly's mildly charming initial post with the claim that Kelly had done something "incredibly stupid" by approaching a dog of a breed that she obviously knows a hell of a lot better than even the presumably (or at least allegedly) hands-on experienced members of this certifiably woebegone newsgroup and you were quite prominent among the chorus of those who piled on in support. Only ChrisW and LynnK seemed to grasp the actual issues, and both appeared to head for the hills when they saw how rpdb "establishment" opinion was playing out in the thread. You and Melanie were among those who irrelevantly cited issues with your own dogs in support of your ignorant opinions. You brought up the irrelevancy. Don't get defensive if people remember it. (And, for the record, I too own at least a couple of dogs who are wary of strangers. I mentioned one on the thread, and noted that I would expect knowledgeable dog people to pick up on her wariness and to know not to push it with them. I'll leave it to the estimation of readers who should count as knowledgeable dog people. Count Chris and Lynn in for sure. I'd leave out those who conceal their identity. The rest are up for grabs, or so it now seems to me.) JohnR Pit Bull Libertarian Never sneer at the power of a little pink squeaky toy! |

Obviously, I would expect knowledgeable dog people to pick up on the wariness of all of my more human wary dogs, but since I was referencing only one at the beginning of the sentence, the 'them' at the end of the quoted sentence should have been 'her'.
