Fearful Schnauzer
We have a 6 mos. old Mini Schnauzer who is fearful of meeting dogs and strangers. We have taken him to socialization classes; tried to meet other pets in our neighbourhood; and tried our best to allow him to meet pets and people on his own while on walks but the results are predictably the same each time. He barks and tries to escape the situation.
His incessant barking is very annoying and no doubt the dog doesn't enjoy the situation when it occurs. We have tried distractions when he begins to bark at people on the street or pets in the park but it only helps momentarily until he again focuses on the dog or person and begins the barking again. I'm certain that there must be something we can do to help our dog gain a more sociable and quiet demeanour, or perhaps we're simply doing something wrong that we can correct. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated so that we can help our pet to meet and greet in a more sociable manner. |

There is something called BAT that you could try. http://ahimsadogtraining.com/blog/20...g-bat-cartoon/ |
