Get her to the vet asap. What you describe sounds like an injured dog, as
Debbie S pointed out. Shaking and a strange desire to be away from you & the house (her comfort zone) is not good. Check her over (literally pick her coat apart to see her skin over every square inch of her body) for any scabs, discoloration of the skin, swelling, punctures, scrapes, etc. Gently press around to see if you may be able to find a sore spot by watching her reaction to applied pressure. Keep her hydrated and watch her stools for signs of more trouble. -- Tara |

I agree with the others, Dave. Anytime you see a sudden change in your dog's behavior, it's always smart to start off with a visit to the vet, since no one actually saw anything happen which might account for this "new" behavior. It could be a bee or wasp sting, a thorn, etc. Even before you take her to the vet, go over every square inch of her body with your hands, and see if you can find anything that looks suspicious. Then give it a little more time, and see what happens. Don't have her interact with any other dogs for a week or so, especially your brother's Lab. And then introduce her to new dogs slowly, gradually, in totally new areas, if possible, and see what happens. If she doesn't improve any, come on back and we'll take another shot at it.
