Default border collie / lab mix?

Oh my - well, you can't mistake the border collie. Not with that intense,
hypnotic gaze. :}

Good shot the other half is lab. Could be pit. Really hard to tell,
especially at that age. Looks more labby to me, though.

He's very playful and LOVES to bite everything...especially human limbs
;-)...which brings me to the next question...how do I get him to stop?? I
got him different chew toys, but he'll play w/ them for 5 mins and then it's
time to chew some ankles and wrists. Tried bitter apple- he finds it to be a
treat...loves to lick it ????

He's now about 11 weeks old, and hope he becomes a bit more mellow. I
exercise him by playing fetch in the hallway, and take him to the backyard
for a few laps around the garden (I've lost 10 Lbs in the past three weeks-
bonus!)

At that age its hard to tell. Loving to bite is normal for most puppies.
Labs are famous for being "mouthy." Labs tend to more take the whole hand
in their mouths, while Border Collies have a tendency to be nippy with
those sharp puppy teeth. The behavior isn't very breed specific. The
same could be said about dozens of breed puppies.

If you are expecting a Border Collie x anything to mellow don't hold your
breath. Get the video "Sirius Puppy Training" by Ian Dunbar. See if you
can find some puppy classes to sign up for. Going to classes with a good
trainer is the most effective way for you to learn how to train your pup.

Look at this pup as a new and exciting challenge. You will want to
channel that energy into something that involves the two of you working
together for a goal. There are a lot to choose from. For a list see

You have two very boisterous mix dogs there.
Most people think Labradors are slow and gentle.
Not true I thought that.:-)
He is a puppy doing puppy things.
If you did not then would be the time to worry.
With those two mixes he will train very well.
He looks lovely
Good luck.
Pat.
