Four and a half months

It's been four and a half months since our senior dog, Kanyak, died. Today
Urger (his "successor") filled the last place in the void that Kanyak's
death created by moving into the bedroom.

The bedroom was always Kanyak's personal domain when he was alive. The two
had free run of the house. Urger would sometimes come to the bedroom door
but he would never venture inside whether or not Kanyak was around. On one
occasion I called to Urger to come to me while I was in the bedroom and he
wouldn't; on another, I attached his leash and took him into the bedroom but
he resisted to the best of his ability.

Urger started showing an interest in the bedroom about three weeks ago. This
morning when I woke up, he was lying by the bed on my side.
