Jo Wolf Martinez, Georgia, USA Next up: Hurricane "Katia." Due here in about 7-8 days. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/08/2...t-models-see-9 2l-developing-into-a-powerful-hurricane-katia-next-week/ Grrr. A little good news, Csrol, I think: “Forecast tracks from the long-range GFS and ECMWF models suggest that Bermuda and Canada might be the only land area threatened by TD 12, but it is too early to be confident of this.” http://pajamasmedia.com/weathernerd/ It also says that you received over 20" of rain from Irene. Whoa. Yup, tracking on Katia shows she may curve up and be a non-event. If she doesn't, she's potentially a big mess here. Rain here on Irene varied by area bands as they swept though and not suprized some got 20 inches. Considering what happened north of us in areas less able to handle that, I'm very happy the worst of the water landed here. We know how to deal with that better. Meantime, my pooches are happy and healthy and guarding the rabbits as they eat my container garden (sigh). A squirrel tried to get at the cucumbers and Aunti Mabel chased it off then settled in and watch the no longer so tiny baby rabbit feast on one of them. I gave up on lettuce and spinach. I swear the dogs are handing it to the rabbits! -- |

Maybe not, kiddo. Irene really cooled down the Atlantic waters, so I doubt Katia will be able to find enough fuel to make it that far north. But I'm glad I don't live in Bermuda right now. -- Dogman |
