Default "Stinking Dog!"

I have a very lovable active, highly intelligent Jack Russel.
It is very healthy and active and seemingly a very nice coat of
fur. It has a free range of a few
hundred square feet of garden to run around, and free access into the house
and her favourate sleeping beanbag.
She is as nice as I would have hoped for in a Jack Rascal.
However, in spite of me bathing her, Cookie, regularily at a week's
interval, she "stinks". (I have also tried more frequent bathing.
[the dog, that is] )
Where have I gone wrong!
I have tried varying her diet, from canned dog food eg, "Prestige"
dried food, and also food of our family, rice, meat and bone, but all
to no avial.

Any suggestion would be most welcome, and with thanks.

Hi,
I would avoid bathing him too often, you might actually obtain the opposite
result...since frequent baths will remove the skin's natural oils...
Other than that, you could try a good oatmeal shampoo,it's very good for
sensitive skin(your dog might have that problem)and ..yes,somebody already
suggested that your vet will check the anal glands, that's very possible!
Take care

Use a eucalyptus wool wash - works wodners, great for coat and skin, and
leaves a nice fresh odour if the dog gets wet. ANother great treatment is a
rinse of 1/3 white vinegar, 3/2 water, poured over and left in the coat.
