Tick?
I am currently house-sitting a cut little 12 year old beagle mix, and just
found a black bump on his ear. I first thought it was a tick, but it seems to have hair growing from/through it. Is this a tick? It is black, the size of a pea, and has no inflammation around it. The pup's owners are in another time zone, so they ain't awake yet any help appreciated mike -- "I know now God why you utter No Answer. You are yourself the answer. Lewis Ticks have no hair, and i have never seen a black tick, Ticks also are attached by their very small head, and next to the head you should be able to spot very small legs. To me it sounds like it is just a wart or small fat filled tumour, probably nothing to be alarmed about. You can keep an eye on it to see if it grows or if it bothers the dog, Old dogs often get these small growths here and there. We used to have them removed from our senior dog once a year when she was sedated because of teeth cleaning, but there is no real need to remove them if they aren't located in a place where they bother the dog. We had them removed from our dog simply because they didn't look nice =) Rosa |
