Default Hormones in greyhounds

My just adopted retired racer is really big for a female greyhound, 28
inches tall and a muscular 75 pounds. I know that the racing greyhound
kennels give hormones to bitches to keep them from coming into season.
I am curious, might racing kennels also administer growth hormones or
steroids to grow them bigger? Or does my Amazon just have "big" genes?

No, kennels do not give steroids to make Greyhounds bigger. Racing
Greyhounds are randomly tested for steroids, which are prohibited.
Also, "big" racers have no inherent advantage over small dogs. NGA
Greyhounds are bred for racing ability, rather than size,
conformation, color, etc., and therefore there is a lot of variability
in those attributes. All that being said, 28" is a bit tall for a
female; how are you measuring her?
