Dog going blind, what can I do?
In article (=?ISO-8859-1?Q?Chris_=AE?=) writes:
My healthy 4 yo lab/shar pei mix is rapidly losing her eyesight due to an unknown allergic reaction which has caused her immune system to attack her eyes. She had already lost sight in one eye, now the other one has become affected. She's an active, playful dog who IMHO will not do well with the limitations her disability will place upon her. Can she adjust and be a happy animal? Any others out there with similiar experiences? Euthanasia is out of the question. I suspect that your dog will do quite well, but why don't you go to http://www.google.com, hit the groups tab, and do a search with a term such as "blind dog." I found one long thread on this subject and I think you can learn much from such a search. --Marshall |
