West Highland Terrier
My 18 month Westie seems to have small spots on her back.
She has the run of the garden, nothing nasty is there. She has always been fed dried food and is well looked after. All the inoculations, flea and worm stuff. England. The vet is saying tests etc and £££££££££$$$$$$$$$ and I know what they are like :-( Suggestions? Thanks Steve |

The spots could be allergies. Only testing can tell you what those
allergies are... if that's the problem. If the dog food contains corn/maize, wheat, soy, dyes/colouring any of those could be the problem... sensitivity or allergy. And only change for a couple of months after getting th ose out of the diet will tell if they were the source of the problem. Note that skin problems are the toughest things for vets to diagnose. Doing it from a quick description on-line to a few non-veterinarians is useless and can be dangerous if some quack jumps in with recommendations....... Jo Wolf Martinez, Georgia, USA |

Jo Wolf Martinez, Georgia, USA Thanks for that Jo. Personally I think the wife is being a bit over the top. It is hardly a rash, just a very few tiny spots that I can't even find without using my glasses. But, Pippa is her baby ... Steve Lancashire, England. |

Just an intro and hello from Harlies family
Hello To All,
My name is philip but I go by "Flip", my wife's name is Melinda but goes by "Mickey" and then there's: "Ms. Harlie D". The best guess our veterinarian and his staff as well as our own research is that she's a "black Labrasenji" but still not sure. She is about 15 months old and is a rescue from a shelter located in Texas, but she now lives just outside the nations oldest city, "Saint Augustine, Florida". She has been here almost a year now. We received her on Dec. 13, 2010) and what a joy she has been and can't imagine not having her here with us now. If you would like to meet Harlie virtually please follow the link below: http://m.facebook.com/pages/Harlies-...59?bcode=KRroD Just wanted to drop a quick hello to all and introduce our selves before we started throeing questions out for any and all . Thanks, Flip, Mickey & Harlie |
