Default Dogs and walking on wood floors

We just moved into a house, which has wood (laminate) flooring in the living
room and down two halls. We have two large dogs who are indoor dogs who
moved in as well. Our problem is, that one of the dogs has problems walking
on the floor. She's walking on her nails instead of her paws and of course
starts slipping and sliding in her effort to sink her claws in. The other
dog however walks, rather, moves just like Fred Astaire across the floor
without any problem. We've laid out runners which has helped, but Ginger is
now limited on where she can go. She still has access to her doggie door,
which is great but she's not able to make it to other parts of the house.
Any suggestions on helping her or training her to walk across the floor
calmly and on the pads of her feet. We've trimmed her nails hoping that
would help but it hasn't. We keep hoping the other dog will train her in
time, but right now Ginger is scared to death. Thanks in advance for all
responses.

Duncan

Duncan:

get a product called "Tacky Paw", it will give her some grip and some
confidence until she gets used to is. i use it on my arthritic old girl
daily so she can walk on the non carpeted areas of the house. i buy it when
i go to dog shows, but you can order it for about $6.00 at:

Thanks so much for the link. Does your dog try and lick it off?
