Default what does it mean when your dog jumps on you and nips you

I have a yorkie and it seems everytime he wants something he jumps and pulls on
my clothes or nips me to get my attention. I dont mind picking him up but he
runs away, so I dont know what this means. Can anyone explain? Thanks, Sherry

Er- it sounds like means that he wants your attention, and you've somehow
inadvertently trained him that the way to do it is to jump on you, pull your
clothes, and nip at you.
It also sounds like he may be trying to play with you.
