Dog Friendly Pit bull /? mix
Oh yes, pitt bulls: mine just loves children!! (Hold the ketchup, pass the
salsa) "Kalikikopa" wrote in message news:3f10f2d7@shknews01... Hi. About a week ago I got a puppy that is about a year old. The person I got her from found her so he isn't sure of the breed. The vet says it might be a Pit bull / Beagle, but I think it might be a Pit Bull / Dalmation ( She is large with spots on her skin that you can see through her fur. My question is about her playing with my Portuguese Water Dog. He's about 8 months old, about 30 lbs smaller than her. The play is a bit rough and our PWC ends up yelping. Is there a way to make them more friendly towards each other? Also She ( Pit Bull) also steels anything he plays with. What can be done about that? Let me know. Thank you. |

when play gets too rough, to the point that the pit is hurting the pwd, a
simple time out should work. stop thier play put the pit mix in a room or his crate for a little bit (obviously if the pit is being the rough one). it won't take too long for the dog to make the connection that being too rough means no more play time. |

Lots of dogs have spots on their skin and, if the coat is light and/or sparse enough, you can see them. This has nothing to do with being part Dalmatian. As for your actual query, when and why does your PWD yelp and what does the supposed Pit Mix do in response to the yelping?
