Default new dog movie alert

"Good Boy" (www.goodboy.com)
I saw the preview and have to admit I chuckled at every line.

The bad thing is... among the (incredibly cute) featured dogs are a
Bernese Mt Dog and an Italian Greyhound. Looking at the website, I
see an Aussie, a poodle, a Great Dane, a Chinese crested, a boxer, a
Briard (?)... I'm sure the BYBers are gearing up right now. (though
the leading dog appears to be a terrier mix, so I'm not sure what
they'll do about that!)

:-(

Argh... yep, that sure looks like one. I'm just glad s/he doesn't
seem to have a major role.

I'm sure the BYBers are gearing up right now.

*sigh*

The lead dog in the movie is a Border Terrier, The Purebred That Looks
Like a Mutt... and in this case, groomed ot look like a mutt! grin
This one happens to be Canadian bred and Canadian owned.

The 102 Dalmatians movie also had a BT that was supposed to be a
mutt. Are real mutts that difficult to find g?
The Dalmatian movie (which sucked, btw) had several "mutts" in
the shelter - a bullmastiff, a borzoi, and a komondor, iirc. Swanky
dog pound.

Just a note...if you EVER seen a Borzoi in a pound, call me.
That will be the day that I finally give in & adopt my "dream but
never have" breed. :-)

I always thought the "purebred that looks like a mutt" award went to
Border Collies. I figure that's at least part of the reason they're so
popular in media -- they look like Everydog.

Only until you see them looking back at you.

I've got some relatives who are thoroughly uncomfortable around my BCs.

"Why do they watch you all the time? Why are they staring at me like
that? They even followed me into the bathroom and stared at me while I
used the john."

I get this w/ my Belgian as well. While Coda (Collie mix, best guesses
Golden Ret/BC dad) will follow & occasionally watch me, Bodhi
the Belgian Sheepdog is *always* on alert for movement. Always.
I can tell that he makes my own parent tired, and puts my mother in law
a bit on edge. She likes dogs okay, but she likes sedate, calm
dogs. Bodhi is FAR from sedate (although he is calm occasionally).
He's always watching me. My husband calls it "Psycho Eye".
