Default Lab or Golden?

Hi,

I am looking to adopt a young-adult dog of at least three years of
age. I'm told that Labs are high energy and need lots of stimulation
well into adult hood. Any thoughts on this? I really like both of
these breeds, Labs and Golden Retrievers, but wonder if the Goldens
tend to mellow out more so than the Labs....

Suggestions, please!

Thanks!

In my experience, yes. I've seen enough variation in this
generalisation, though, to not rely upon it.

Since you're going to adopt a dog in the 3 year old range, I
think that the maturity level should be apparent - trust the
opinion of the shelter or the rescue group on this.
