Border Collie
Hi NG
my ten-year-old BC started acting strange a week ago. He doesn't drink much during the day, but really gulps it down at night, he then starts barking to be let out. Once outside, he goes for a pee and then started drinking that dirty water from the fishpond, although his bowl is filled-up again and again with fresh water. Drinking a full bowl of water he has never been done before but does now. He also vomits a lot, when he has cleaned that waterbowl. Anybody's any suggestion what might be wrong with that dog? ask kindly Detlev E. Deipenau |

Obviously the sonner you get him to a vet the better it will work out, ours almost died once the vomitting started, too much glucose in the blood. |

J. dvm Thanks all of you for your help. I immediately went to the Animal-Clinik of the University of Hannover where the figured a pancreas infection as well as old-age-diabetes. They've put him on a drip and just phoned me to tell me that he's responding well but has to stay for another couple of days for further treatment. Again, thank you all. Kind regards from germanys beautyfull north. Detlev |
