Help for dogs with gasteroentisis or "diahorrea dogs"
I thought this might help some people with dogs with gasteric problems.
My dog developed 'sloppy poo' at age eleven. The vet wanted to put him on a very restricted diet. A kind person on this NG recommended probiotics (which the vet didn't) and I have tried this plus a tablet of pysillium a day and the dog is (nearly) back to normal. The probiotics are New Chapter - a USA brand - which contain 6 billion bacteria per tablet, he gets two a day.I tried Solgar tabs containing 500,000 bacteria but they didn't work too good. The New Chapter stuff also works on the upper and lower intestine. I thought this might help someone who is being told their dog has to go on continual antibiotics and/or a rectricted diet. Thanks to those who helped with my original inquiry. Please consult your vet first! |
