Default puppy lose of appetite

the place where i brought the puppy from he ate their food.i brought the
same brand from the store.
he drinks plenty of liquids, but takes a one or two bites out of the food
bowl.
he has bowl movements when i walk him.
i didnt give him any dog milk.i am wondering if the previous owner new
the correct age of the puppies they sold.
what method can be recommend to encourage him to eat more?
i have tried water [warm & cold] mixed with the puppy food.

Default puppy lose of appetite

reading through your post it reads as though you bought your pup from a
pet store,is this right?

its natural for any dog to have a loss or dip in appetite after a big
change in life which includes a new home but if this is a pet store dog
then even more so.

many pet shop dogs are the result of puppy farmed dogs which means your
dog would have had very little human contact may not have seen daylight
and would certainly have not ventured from the pen or area he was kept
in with no medical treatment.
so consider his feelings and fright, after 8 weeks of no contact they
are picked up put in a van and left in a pen in a bright noisy shop
with loads of loud strange noises and lots and lots of ppl looking in
on him.its enough to put the terrors in me!.
has he had his vet check yet? if not this must be done and soon.
if he has a clean bill of health and his wormers then i feed twice a
day but as youve a pup then 3/4 smaller meals may be. ask him to sit
for his meal and then put him down giving the release command you will
use,i use ok. then walk away.
go and do something to appear busy.if he walks away and refuses to come
back to his meal then pick it up and offer it again at the next set
meal time doing the same process. he will soon get the idea.

if all else fails i have a friend who buys dog gravy and dog cheese
sauce. your pup wont resist that for long

all the best for you and your pup.dg.

My pup is 12 weeks old tomorrow and is a finicky eater -- a breed trait
apparently. I am feeding her everything the breeder told me but she tends
to just nibble, then leave, then come back and nibble. I leave the food
down until it is all gone (either by her or doggy #1) and she has a constant
supply of puppy milk and fresh water and access to doggy number 1s dry food.

I am not overly concerned with the amounts she eats during the day but the
evening meal is my main concern because it has the added vitamins as
recommended by the breeder and what I have found to work like a charm to get
her to eat her evening meal is to sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on it and
then stir it in very slightly.

As she eats a decent meal at the end of the day, she then tends to sleep 8 -
10 hours at night.

Default puppy loses fight

my cousin friend out the puppy had contracted parvo from his stay at the
dog pound .we couldnt understand why they didnt test all puppies for
parvo before sending them home .they gave the puppy its first
shots, nuetered it,and then put a locater chip inside the puppy .
we recommed when puppies arrive at the pound they be tested for parvo
we recommed the puppies that tested negative for parvo be seperated
from the puppies that tested positive.
they told us to come back in 3 weeks for another puppy, but at this time
the policy wouldnt be changed.
i was happy that my friend got his money back for the puppy, and i
recommend he not get another puppy from that pound.
reason it makes no sense not to test before neutering, first shots, and
chip implant.
we were advised to bleach all the floors in our house, and spray germ
killer on the carpet.
