Default Dogs eyelids?

I was just watching my dog dream. She is lying on her side, one eye is
slightly open showing just the white, and her feet and eye are flickering.

There is an opaque membrane that comes in from the side (the nose side) that
covers up to half her eye. I've never noticed it before, but have never
really looked. What is it? (or am I seeing something else and am confused?)

It's her inner (or third) eyelid.

Nictating membrane.
