What is a Super-Premium Dog Food?

super-premium. What constitutes premium or super-premium. Is it just
the company putting any name/lable on it that they want, or are there
government standards defining these categories that are enforced by
some government agency?

Obviously if the company can put that label on without any regulation
it's meaningless. They could repackage Dog Chow and call it
"Fontano's Super-Premium Canine Diet."

Pretty soon we'll be hearing about some company who claims that they
are a "SuperDuperUltraSuperPremiumMostBestestInTheWholeW ideUniverse"
type of food.

Basically you have grocery store foods, feed store foods, and premium
foods. Good luck trying to define what constitutes a "premium" vs a
"super-premium" food. What a person should look for is a food that
meets the nutrient profile of the lifestage/lifestyle of the pet; one
that is high in antioxidants and avoids nutrient excesses.
