diving in water after nutering
Hi,
I just got my new black lab from the shelter today. He's just been nutered. On his first walk, he pulled himself out of his collar and dove into the lake. Of couse his sutures are fresh and he shouldn't have done that. What dhould I do now? I gave him a light bath already. -Thanks -Todd |

diving in water after nutering
Hi Todd,
I would dab very lightly at the incision when/if it gets wet. Keep it dry until it heals properly - if the incision area 'weeps' get vet advice or if not possible get some hibitane and dilute *very* well and dab close to the incision but *away* from it each time with a new piece of cotton or whatever, to reduce further risk of infection. You don't want to leave soap/wash on the incision/stitches. How's he doing? Hope he heals well, Diana wrote in message ups.com... Hi, I just got my new black lab from the shelter today.
