Default Recuiting new foster homes - idea

I'm really suprised by the great response to a newspaper article run
last week in local papers about fostering for rescue groups. Every
group that was mentioned in the article has gotten new volunteers,
including potential foster homes. It was the simplest thing in the
world to arrange; I simply called the newpaper features desk and
suggested the story. We got top of the fold front page and the back
page of the section, with 4 large photos. It was minimal
effort/maximum reward.

Excellent idea, Lynn! Great article. I am archiving for my rescue group.
Thank you for all the hard work you do for the dogs.

Sincerely,
Kc

I hope they stay (the volunteers). I used to run a monthly ad in the paper
here and would always get between 1-5 emails from interested parties. Some
even submitted volunteer applications. The problem was that out of a year's
worth of ads, apps & emails, only 2 volunteers actually stuck. The others
offered help but never gave it when asked.
