Default dog fighting lauded on tv

While flipping through the channels today, I saw an interview of a black
rapper called "DMX" on MTV. It caught my attention because he was happily
referring to how he knew a lot about dog fighting. It seems that if a dog
wins five fights in a row, he's called a 'grand champion'... which is why
the rapper chose the same phrase as the title for his new album.

The interviewer and another guest (both black) were meanwhile smiling and
nodding. It occurred to me that if any white entertainers were to talk like
that, their careers would be in jeopardy. But of course, anybody who
criticised this shameless display on MTV today would be called a "racist".
(I assume some hypocritical white, liberal reverse-racist will call me that
here.) Yet blacks, especially those with the vaunted "street cred", are
often associated with the cruel sport of dog fighting.

Needless to say, reverse-racist hypocrites like Ted Koppel are never going
to do a show on this, though. Too bad, since many innocent animals will
suffer, as a casualty of political correctness.

It is a sad attitude for anyone to have, but don't confuse the "hype"
in the media, with real life.

Not many "Kung Fu fighters" of years gone by, ever became martial
artists of any note, and I expect the same with the rappers gaining
media hype by associating themselves with "fighting dog Grand
Champions".

Man would be a fool to get caught doing something that cruel and
felonious. I'm sure any judge or jury would gladly throw the book at a
public figure caught being involved with dog fighting.

If any pics ever came out, the vaunted artist "DMX" could be "Dee
Puppy Killer" and "deespised" in dee very shortest amount of time.

Ted Koppel is a journalist, so I don't expect wonders. He's got to
"sell" something, nearly every night, for "Nightline".

On most topics, I believe he's got a balance of views in the people he
interviews on either side of the topic for the evening. Seems much
better balanced than most journalists I see.

He certainly brought Carter's pipe dreams regarding the hostages in
Iran, crashing back down to reality. I love Jimmy, but he was too
noble and moral to deal effectively with guys like the Iranians.
