Default Dog drinks out of puddle????

I was wondering why my house dogs drink out of mud puddles everytime I let
them out. I keep clean fresh water in their bowl but they still would
rather drink dirty water. Does this mean their systems are lacking minerals
or something like that.

Probably not, but don't let him do it. Parasites..... eek.
