Default Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies?

Hey,

I'm sixteen and recently my 5 year-old Persian cat had to be put down.
Finally after dealing with the grief I'm ready for another little
bundle of love. I would like a dog, I like in town in a small town,
and I love the breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. However, they cost
soo much. I cannot afford to buy a puppy/dog like that. I would also
like to train the puppy so that 1-2 years they could go visit nursing
homes with me and volunteer with me. So I was wondering...

Does anyone know of a breeder who is reputable and sells Cavaliers for
$500? Or since that is probally unheard of and nonexistent, does
anyone know of any rescues that I could cheaply buy a Cavalier puppy?

I love animals, have read all about the breed, and am an aspiring
veterinarian.

The initial cost of that breed is the cheapest part. Say HELLO to heart
problems. It's almost unavoidable in that breed. They don't live very
long, and thus, they are expensive breeders to maintain.

If you buy a CKCS, and can't afford the purchase price, can you really
afford the vet bill that will far exceed the purchase price and the
heart break?

Ask yourself this, before playing with fire. GREAT breed. Just uniformly
unhealthy
