Default Good place to visit next week?

Next week is Spring Break here at Purdue. We recently learned that
we won't have our oldest dog much longer (cancer). We'd like to
take a fun family trip while everyone is able.

I'm in Indiana. I'd like to go somewhere with warmer weather but
not far (up to 500 miles) away with great activities for the dogs.

Any ideas? We could just stick around here, but I'd like to try
to do something memorable.

Thank you.

Check the AKC site for trials and other events. There's also a website
about travelling with your dog:

www.tripswithpets.com

They should be able to tell you all the dog beaches and such.

Trials are o.k. (I like shopping at them.) but I was really looking
for a special activity like a "pet expo" or pet-friendly community
fair.

There are lots of them...

but that's a new one to me! It looks like some good information.
I'll look through it some more.

We've had great fun on beaches

but I've gotten too lazy to deal with the cleanup.

Thank you for the info.
