Default A Place for a Pack?

- Nehmo -
Yes, I know this isn't a good situation for the pack. But
having them killed is absolutely not a solution.

- Klein -
I don't know where you're at,

- Nehmo -
I'm downtown KCK, between the tennis court and the big court. If you
look on page 123 of the SBC Greater Kansas City Yellow Pages (Keep Until
Dec. 2003). The Barnett Law Firm ad, There's a pic of the Barnett
building near which the dogs generally stay. During business hours, the
four of them are usually asleep under that overhang.

- Klein -
but I guess in KCKS dog packs have
become commonplace and somewhat threatening.

- Nehmo -
There are plenty of stray dogs. And as dogs are social creatures,
sometimes they've assembled into packs.

- Klein -
Parents worry about
their small children and pets.

- Nehmo -
An unfounded worry. Stray dogs are timid.

- Klein -
Packs learn quickly they can
cause humans to retreat and then snarf up dropped groceries and
fast food sacks.

- Nehmo -
That's ridiculous. If anything, strays have learned a policy of
avoidance, and they get their food by scavenging. Dogs that threaten
people are defending territory. These dogs have some kind of home, in
other words, a home in association with human(s).

- Klein -
They knock over track cans so the lids come
off, and so on.

- Nehmo -
True, strays do get into trash. What would you do if you were a stray
dog?

- Klein -
Hopefully the pack you're seeing hasn't reached
this stage. This is a sad situation for the animals and humans
alike.

- Nehmo -
What you're saying reminds me of what Jack London said about wolves.
Jack embellished his stories with fiction about attacking wolfs. Lost of
people believed him.
