Recuperation is a Bitch (named Shilo)

Well, she is doing very well. But it is still a game every day to get Georgie
out of the house for a run. All kinds of subterfuge: stash lead/harness outside
and calmly go out the back. sigh. She STILL knows and the look on her face when
we return (I say something like 'Man, it's hot out there, huh Georgie' or
something equally as lame. Last nite she freaked herself (and me) out. She
rolled funny and her neck was lower than her body (off the bed) and she cried.
She wouldn't move for about an hour and I was terrified she had done something.
But she is fine, walking outside and doing her bidness well and up on her
haunches now. But the old gal is tired, and I have to be patient. Stitches out
Monday.

Deb, I have just now scrolled down this far to read about
your trials with Shi.
Hang in there, it can only get better.
I've spent too many weeks sleeping on the floor
and getting damned too little sleep in general, with
surgeries in this den lately.
I'm sure by now, you are sleep deprived and kind of
rummy and short of temper. You probably haven't eaten
much either, or what you did eat, wasn't really good for you
or completely tasteless to you.
After Shi gets her stitches out, (and a couple of days
later), you need to get someone if you can, to babysit
her so you can get a good solid night's sleep and make
yourself a nice dinner. Make it a prime rib, baked potato
and lots of butter and sour cream, and fresh asparagus
or a nice green salad.

Terri! Thanks so much for your kind (and right on) words. It is getting better
each day. Her spirits are very high (a little too high) and holding her back
right now is the challenge. Already have my special dinner planned (for me,
it's BBQ salmon!)

session; and he was so very tired afterwards.
