Tsuki jumps
They didn't look anything like any other Aussies I have ever seen
-- they were both teeny tiny, fine-boned, long-headed, and had some eye. I've seen other working-bred Aussies (a friend of mine used to use Aussies on her sheep, and still has a couple left), but those dogs looked a lot like stocky versions of Solo. The Aussies I saw at the trial were littler than Fly, and aside from the lack of tail and color (muddy merle), could pass easily as working Border Collies. Someone told me they were from Hangin' Tree lines. Lots of obsession with everyone trying to label the dogs with a breed. I have a shelter dog that some call an Aussie, some call an Aussie/BC mix, some call a ranch dog. Well, he did come from a rural area and who knows what his true background is. I think lots of people with working dogs breed good workers to good workers, whether they are bcs, aussies, mixes, mcnabs, kelpies. |

Lots of obsession with everyone trying to label the dogs with a breed. Perhaps. Personally, though, I'd substitute the word "fun" for "obsession". -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |
