Laminate flooring info
For those who were involved in the great laminate flooring debate (and
you know who you are even if I can't remember), I have some further information after finding someone who is more than a sales droid to talk to about the matter. There are still differences in laminates even though basically all of them use the interlocking system instead of the glue down system. The reason some people still don't like Pergo as well is that they use a glue to secure the seams. Most other brands use a wax bead system, which works better at keeping water and other moisture (r.p.d'ers know what I mean here) from damaging the floor. There are also differences in how the laminate is bonded that affect how it holds up to denting, flaking and several other things that I can't remember. There are bonding process differences among lines the various manufacturers put out as well as among brands. So now you know...the rest of the story. -- Paula "Paula talks tough, and she wears vicious lipstick, but she lacks the depth of hate that I have spent many years cultivating." The Avocado Avenger |
