Traveling with Zelda
I've been researching (online and at pet supply stores in town) soft-sided
carriers for taking my Chihuahua to Colorado with me this summer. I've found that the most popular seems to be the Sherpa, but there's one by Top Paw that looks promising too. They all say they have convenient pockets to carry your pet's papers and water and food, none of which are concerns of mine. I want her to be as comfortable as she can be, under the seat in front of me, keeping in mind that she's fairly alpha and hates to be confined. Any input, anyone? My mother's Chi will also be traveling with us and she's very shy and nervous (thunderstorms and men's voices will send her behind the pillows on Mom's bed). Most of the airlines recommend *not* sedating dogs for travel, but my mom may have little choice. I have seen a product online called Pet-Eze, supposedly a "natural" tranquilizer (one for cats, one for dogs), that contains tryptophan. Anyone ever used it? Thanks! |
