annoying dog

My family currently owns a five to seven year old labrador retreiver,
who constantly begs for food each dinner, which quickly becomes
irritating. What are the best ways to stop this nuisiance? How can I
tell the rest of my family that feeding her even pieces of fat and
chicken skin after the meal shouldn't be done?
