Default doggie depression?

hi, my wife and i have a 10 month old bulldog that we love dearly. i
recently had to move to another city for my work and my wife and dog
stayed behind. they will be joining me in july. my wife tells me that
since i´ve gone, the dog has little desire to eat (rare for her, she
ALWAYS wants to eat) and doesnt want to sleep in her bed. thankfully
thats the extent so far, no physical damage to anything in the house
or to herself. is there any way for us to alleviate what appears to be
a depression caused by my absence? or am i way off base in my
diagnosis? any advice is greatly appreciated as i want my baby to be
fat and happy.
