We have had a Beagle that we picked up from an Animal Rescue League
for a little over a year. He was dropped off by his owners for
"soiling in the house"- after having had him for 5 years.

For the past year, very infrequently, he has been peeing in the house
and/or crate. This past January, we started him on a diet dog food: OM
(Overweight Management). Around that time, he started peeing and/or
pooping (only a little) in his crate, day and night.

It's come to the point where we just give him newspaper to stay on in
his crate. I've noticed that if we put him in his crate, and walk away
for 30 seconds, he's peeing! It's hard to think that this is a
phyiscal problem. At night, he sleeps at the top of the stairs with
the stairs blocked off. If he's around us, he seems fine.

We've tried spanking and rewarding for whichever reason, and take him
out at least 3 times daily. My only thought, until we take him to the
vet Monday, is that the new food is causing him to loose water weight,
or the change in routine (new diet) is causing this. We really need
help!
