Default Fat ACD

Now, what's the ideal weight for the average ACD?

I'd wager 35-45 lbs, depending on height and muscle. Poor guy. I hope
your in-laws can keep up with the diet, too.

Still doesn't beat Reba, the Pembroke who was taken into rescue at about
72 lbs. (She is now a svelte 30ish with tons of loose skin similar to
what gastric bypass patients get after surgery.)

Oh dear lord. The heaviest Pembie I ever met topped out at about
42lbs: built like a beer keg with feet. Another 30lbs and he would
have needed a skateboard to get around. (Very sweet dog, but from
the front he looked like Eric Cartman's head.)

WOW!! That is sad I wouldn't think a pem could get that big
without
rupturing... thank goodness she was rescued.
And I thought my neighbors lab was bad (I still do) at about 85
lbs...

She couldn't walk, the fat rolls on her neck were so big they cut off
her ears and she had horrible, horrible ear infections. She couldn't
move, so she had to eliminate on herself and had wretched urine scald
and a very soiled rear. Her "armpits" and groin area were so red and
inflamed, it was hard to look at her. She was always a sweet, sweet girl
and is in a great home now. I tried to find her webpage again, but it's
been taken down, so no pics. I'd love to have her pics up again to show
her "before" and "after." There is a fabulous one of Reba *running,* and
her loose skin was sucked out behind her from the force of her running.
I don't know if they ever did anything about that skin or just let it
be.
