Default yorky behavior

Hello,

My fiance has a 4 yr old yorky, Sophie. Her yorky was trained to go on a
"potty pad" in the bathroom and was given a doggy treat when she
complied. This mostly worked however she would usually only pee on the
potty pad, she would do the rest of her business anywhere she could
hide it. When I began coming over to her apartment on a daily basis there
was a certain amount of jealousy that Sophie exhibited while I was over.
She started peeing whenever and wherever she felt like it. We began
leaving her in the bathroom with a babygate up when we left for work or in
the evenings. This only lasted for a month or two before she realized she
could jump over the gate. We are now shutting her in the bathroom before
we leave, however she will poop on the floor and smear it all over the
floor if we do that. When she began that behavior, I started giving her
baths as soon as I got home. This seems to mostly keep her from smearing
it into the floor. However, we have to watch her so close when we are at
home. If we do not take her to the bathroom and tell her to go, she will
just go wherever. This is getting highly frustrating. To add to the
frustration level, we are building a new house. I would love Sophie to be
able to have free reign of the house while we are gone. But I know she
will just go wherever she is at the time. She is extremely intelligent and
she has grown quite fond of me over the last year BUT she gets upset when
we leave her and will go to the bathroom purposely wherever she feels like.

ANY HELP?????

Thanks,
Jason N.
