Default Help with an australian bluee heeler mix

I have a blue heeler mix 3 year odl female. Her father is an full blooded blue
heeler and her mother is a long haired daschund. Anyway my problem is this -
how do I get the "herding" instinct out of her. She sees our farm animals
running she feels the need to herd. She doesn't hurt the animals but her
herding instincts are carrying over to kids. She doesn't hurt the children
(they run she chases and nips at their heels). The problem I have is we have a
very determined neighbor who swears my dog is a menace and says if it is the
last thing he does he will see that she is put down for being a vicious dog.
So I need to try some approach to get her to stop trying to herd animals and
kids. And from reading the posts there is one person who is posting not so
nice stuff - please don't post on this topic. I need honest opinions not some
crazy person giving me solutions :-)

Thanks in advance.
