Handsome Jack Morrison wrote: From the current issue of Dog Fancy: "Based on 30 years of animal diagnoses made at veterinary teaching hospitals in the United States and Canada, the report identifies the 10 most frequently diagnosed problems in 78 dog breeds. It also assigns an odds ratio comparing the risk of a specific disease in a particular breed to the risk of that disease in all other breeds combined. "One example: Of the top 10 diseases diagnosed in Boxers at veterinary hospitals, the most frequently seen disease is epileptic seizure, with the Boxer at seven times greater risk than all other breeds combined..." http://www.akcchf.org/research/artic...apers/risk.pdf Fascinating, thanks for the link! |
