Default eight magical words...

"how come our dog doesn't act like that?"

yep, it finally happened. someone finally pointed at *my* dog and said
those wonderful words. the SO and i had Manu at Starbucks, right next to a
PetSmart. we were practicing stays, with treats dropped around him, and
dogs walking by, and lots of people milling about. the best part was when a
little bird came up and stole one of the treats from right in front of him.
he just whined a bit, and drooled some more.

a couple walks by as we're practicing. "how come our dog doesn't act like
that?" she asks her partner. the SO and i just about burst laughing. were
they really talking about *our* dog?

yep, stay with distractions. not bad, Manu, not bad. :-D

grin Yay! Keep it up Kelly & you guys just might have a well-trained
dog on your hands! ;-)
Keep up on the different places, slowly upping the levels of distractions,
Manu is doing great!

How about when guests arrive at your house and ring the bell and knock on
the door, you ask both dogs "on the rug" (in the lounge miles from the
enterance door), ask them them to sit and stay while you open the front
door, invite the guests in, greet the guests, invite the guests into the
living room and to be seated, then release the dogs! That's been my
challenge and we have acheived it, and these are 2 dogs that lurve people,
but no treats, just "sit, stay, good dogs". Easy.

Shame on you, Paul.
You lure innocent people into you house, make them seated and relaxed
and then you release your beasts on them.

How many people your dogs have lurved already?

This is bad,bad,bad

Chicha.
