Default chamomile tea

I read somewhere that if you mix some chamomile tea in with your dogs
drinking water, that it will help with shedding. Has anyone ever heard that
before? Is there any truth to it?

It takes more than chamomile tea... grin It takes excellent
nutrition, and excellent and frequent grooming. Remember, a dog is
designed, in general, to have a major shed in the spring, and many have
a second, but lesser shed in the fall. Some breeds are going to shed
buckets of hair no matter what you do to try to prevent it.... every
single day. It is natural Not shedding is not natural.

What breed is your dog? It helps to know when replying.

The oldest is golden retriever x german shepherd and the youngest is husky x
german shepherd. I pretty much have it under control with the oldest. Once
I get his undercoat out, it's not bad at all. The youngest is kind of bad
right now. She's only a year old and this is her first real shedding
season, which seems to be the worst one from my experience. On top of that
having the husky coat that she does, I know I'm in for a life of hairballs!
I'd like to find something better to get her undercoat out with that I won't
end up spending a fortune trying out different grooming tools. For the
golden I use an undercoat rake and slicker brush and on the husky right now
i use a wide tooth comb and slicker brush. The comb works pretty well, but
I end up having to be a little rougher than she likes with it. I've always
stopped to look at the stop shedding items in pet stores, secretly wishing
they worked wonders and then passing them on. Sometimes I think it would be
easier if I could just vaccum my dogs instead of having to vaccum the house
so often! You know, get to the source of it! I had thought of trying them
on some flaxseed oil just to see if it would make a difference. That's the
one I've heard the most about anyway. That's when I stumbled on the
chamomile tea....I had just never heard that before and didn't know if there
was any truth to it.

It doesn't work all that well. I did it reguarly with my Golden (the dog I've
had with the most coat) and it was only oif minor help. I had a brush and flea
comb attachment. What it DID do was create a vacuum loving monster - he would
bug me for a "sweep down" every time I vacuumed! Guess it was massage-like -
he loved it.
