Aggressive puppy problems?
My wife and I recently adopted a 4 month old chow, collie and shepard
mix. She is a great dog and we're almost always very proud of how well she behaves with kids, strangers and other dogs. However, in the last few weeks she has picked up an obnoxious habit of trying to engage me in some type of play. It normally starts by attaching herself onto my pant leg and pulling, jumping up and snapping and generally making it impossible for me to ignore her. She continually bites at my legs and feet while showing her teeth and growling. I was surprised to discover that she will even snap at my face if given the opportunity. I have tried our normal deterrants: "no bite", "off", "no", clapping my hands to get her attention, walking away, but these things seem to only get her more excited. Do you all have any suggestions on how to curb this dominate and aggresive behavior? thanks, Fer |
